Maz Silver has been all about making jewellery as personal as possible. With each piece being made by hand, the jewellery has an organic shine that gives Maz Silver its charm. Each piece is completely different and there is only one of each ring ever made, so every ring is entirely unique! As well as sending regular updates on any commissions, you also get little pictures and videos of your jewellery being made.
Maz Silver has a few limited drops to buy, if you're lucky enough to get them before they're gone!
Most pieces are made to order, so if there is a piece you've fallen in love with, just get in contact and one will be made specifically for your needs.
Commissions are a great way to get the perfect piece of jewellery. Get in contact with as much information as you can give, and the piece will be made in due course! Find out more about commissions here.
Hi, I'm Mary and I began making Silver Jewellery in 2022. I went to my first silver smith course in Summer '22 where I learnt some incredibly basic skills. The main thing I learnt was that I completely love creating jewellery. I've had an incredible journey in the past few years, trying to learn as much as possible about different techniques and I'm so excited to learn more!
Maz Silver has been all about making jewellery as personal as possible. With each piece being made by hand, the jewellery has an organic shine that gives Maz Silver its charm. Something that feels special about handmade jewellery is being able to notice little wobbles and shapes where the maker has left their mark.
Most pieces are made using the Lost Wax technique of jewellery making. The pieces are carved from wax; shaped using files, heat and cutting away at tiny pieces until the desired design is made. With Maz Silver jewellery, the inside of the rings are often textured. This texture is a 'nod' to the Lost Wax technique, there are often smooth lines left behind by the wax during the casting process. The texture is a lovely way to remind the wearer of how their piece has been created!
The vision for Maz Silver is to become a jeweler that can deliver high quality jewellery that feels important to each person who wears it. Whether it 's given as a gift or a treat just for you, Maz Silver pieces aim to have a personal bond to each person.
There are limited pieces available in stock. There is only one of each piece, so make sure to get in there fast! See pieces on this website, or go to Instagram @mazsilver_ for extra pictures. Get in contact for more information via this website.
The pieces that are dropped on Maz Silver are one off, originally designed pieces. They're designs that make me happy and come from my creative journey as a jewellery designer!
If you see an existing design that you like, but it may not be in your size... that's no problem! Just get in contact to order a piece that fits you.
If you would like a piece of jewellery that is unique to you, just get in contact and tell me all about it! Commissions are a great way to learn new skills, so there are so many opportunities to be creative. From animal pendants, to signet rings with engraved initials, I'll always try my best to create the piece you want.
You will be involved with the whole creative process (if you would like to be), I offer pictures and videos of the making process of the pieces.

I started Maz Silver back in 2022. It has been a long term dream of mine to work with jewellery. I have always worn plenty of jewellery, it makes me feel put together and without it I'm just not myself. Even at school, when wearing jewellery wasn't allowed, somehow I managed to wiggle around the rules and walk into class wearing my Mums earrings and necklaces. Finally, after a degree in Fine Art I decided to try my luck at jewellery making. Just as I had expected... I completely fell in love with the process.
As I began attending small local classes, I managed to build up enough tools to make my first ring! I made a signet with an engraved mountain on it and gifted it straight away - gifting is always a great way to show off a new skill! I am very thankful to all the different teachers I have had so far. It's always a joy to learn a new method. Now I have a whole workshop at the back of my house and just enough space to let the creativity take over.
Like many creatives, I also work another job. My full-time job is working as a Resident Artist in a Childcare Setting. I create a safe space for children to explore and expand their beautiful minds in as many creative ways as possible. Working with children is a genuine pleasure, it's wonderful to see their faces glow when they're allowed to express themselves as artists! (Please take this little fact into consideration when ordering from me, children require lots of time, and things may take one or two days longer than expected!)
The amount of support I have had so far for Maz Silver has been overwhelming. With continuous orders coming in from strangers, friends and family I am constantly busy... and very happy!
I have a workbench that my Dad built for me at the back of my house where I create every piece. The space is small but perfect for me. My family have been so understanding of the constant mess and noise and for that I am so grateful!
Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far.
I've learnt a few different processes so far on my jewellery journey.
Lost Wax:
This method has been my favorite so far. The lost wax method was the first thing I learnt in depth. I was taught how to measure, shape and finish beautiful pieces of jewellery by hand.
Cuttlefish Casting:
I attended a weekend course on cuttlefish casting which was a complete delight. This ancient technique left the most incredible marks on a signet ring and is so much fun to do!
Basic Silversmithing:
Fortunately there are many silversmiths courses around my local area. I learnt a few basic skills from a wonderful jeweler and am keen to gain more knowledge. I make all my bangles and open-band rings by silversmithing.
